UEFA Champions League: Where to Watch in the USA

UEFA Champions League: Where to Watch in the USA

Paramount+ is the only English-language home of the Champions League in the US, with UniMás (TUDN) carrying selected matches in Spanish. Both options explained.

Upcoming fixtures

CBS Sports — through its parent’s streaming service Paramount+ — holds the exclusive English-language US rights to the UEFA Champions League through the 2029-30 season. Every Champions League match, from the new league phase through the final, streams on Paramount+. A handful of high-profile matches each season also air on the CBS broadcast network. Spanish-language coverage is split with Univision: TUDN and UniMás carry the matches that air in Spanish, also available on the free ViX tier and the paid ViX Premium.

Paramount+: the English-language home

The Paramount+ Essential tier ($7.99 per month or $79.99 per year as of 2026) carries every UCL match. The Paramount+ with SHOWTIME tier ($12.99 per month) adds the SHOWTIME library; sports rights are identical. Both tiers stream live in 1080p with optional Spanish or English commentary.

Some Walmart+ members receive a Paramount+ Essential subscription as part of the Walmart+ bundle (terms vary by year). If you are already a Walmart+ member, check whether you have an unactivated Paramount+ credential before paying for it separately.

CBS Sports’ studio show Golazo and the Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards desk anchor English coverage. Highlights and full match replays remain on Paramount+ after the live broadcast.

Matches on the CBS broadcast network

CBS reserves a small number of marquee fixtures each Champions League season for the over-the-air CBS network. These are typically a quarter-final, a semi-final, and the final itself. Anyone with a digital antenna can watch the CBS-broadcast matches with no subscription required. Local CBS affiliates also stream the network feed on Paramount+ for subscribers who add their local station to the service.

Spanish-language coverage on Univision

Univision splits Champions League rights with CBS for the Spanish-language US market. UniMás carries the bulk of matches. TUDN (the Univision Sports cable channel) carries others. Univision’s ad-supported streaming service ViX carries a rotating slate of UCL matches with Spanish commentary; ViX Premium ($6.99 per month) carries the full slate including knockout-round matches.

If you primarily watch Spanish-language coverage, ViX is the cheapest single subscription that gets you to a full UCL season.

A note on subscription stacking

A US viewer who wants every Champions League match in English needs only Paramount+ Essential. Adding ViX Premium gives Spanish-language access at a combined cost under $15 per month. There is no scenario in which a US viewer needs both Paramount+ Premium tiers, additional cable add-ons, or any other service to access the full Champions League season.

Frequently asked

Does the Champions League final air free-to-air in the US? CBS has aired the final on the broadcast network in recent seasons, available with a digital antenna or any basic cable package that includes CBS. CBS has the option to keep the final on Paramount+ exclusively in any given year; check before the date.

Is the new league-phase format covered the same way? Yes. Paramount+ holds the rights to every match across the league phase, knockout round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final. The change in format does not affect US broadcaster availability.

Can I watch without committing to a full subscription? Paramount+ offers a 7-day free trial periodically. ViX has a free tier with a rotating slate of matches but without the full UCL schedule.
